Whether you are a painter or a writer creating something through your imagination has always been considered an art of genius work. Dan Brown is known for being the creator of the international best-seller The Da Vinci Code and other thrillers novels.

Born to math teacher Richard G. Brown and a musician mother, Dan Brown first tried his luck as a singer, pianist, and songwriter. But it never worked. He started teaching Spanish at Beverly Hills Preparatory School, where he met his future wife, Blythe Newlon. After that, he became an English teacher at Phillips Exeter.

His love for music stays with him, and he released a self-titled CD with the song “976-Love”. Some people compare him with Barry Manilow. Sidney Sheldon’s book Doomsday Conspiracy inspired him to try his hand at writing.

Getting Started Writing

He used the pseudonym Danielle Brown for his first writing, 187 Men to Avoid: A Guide for the Romantically Frustrated Woman, and later his first techno-thriller Digital Fortress.

He then published the thriller novel Angels and Demons and Deception Point. In his writing, he has thanked his wife for researching and adding creativeness to the novels.

Then comes The Da Vinci Code, which sold 6000 copies on the first day and became a best seller.  This book has been translated into more than 54 languages. This book also stirred up controversy, and various Catholic Church called it anti-Christian.

The Da Vinci Code became so famous that Ron Howard directed a movie with Tom Hanks in 2006 and later another movie based on Angels and Demons.

He even donated $2.2 million to the Phillips Exeter Academy for the students. He then wrote his fifth novel, The Lost Symbol, and topped with more than one million copies.
